A tiny book that packs a big punch, and probably my favorite book on leadership.

by Jim Collins

The author and his team researched (over fifteen years!) the defining characteristics that allow "good" companies (and even "bad" ones) to progress to world-class greatness.

 

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, by Stephen R. Covey

This classic, now in it's 30 year anniversary edition, lays out seven essential skills for both personal and professional growth.

 

The Five Dysfunctions of a Team: A Leadership Fable, and Overcoming the Five Dysfunctions of a Team: A Field Guide for Leaders, Managers, and Facilitators, both by Patrick Lencioni

If your business has grown large enough that you are starting to build out your leadership team, or teams in any department, these books are must-reads.

What Type of Leader Are You? Using the Enneagram System to Identify and Grow Your Leadership Strengths and Achieve Maximum Success, by Ginger Lapid-bogda, Ph.D.

The Enneagram is a personality assessment, similar to others you may have heard of such as DISC, Myers-Briggs, MMPI, Kolbe, etc.  It is a powerful tool for both self and team development.  There is a Worksheet below on the nine Enneagram types in business.
